Retail Security Relief Officer - Tesco Partnership

Location: Mablethorpe (LN12 1FN)
Pay Rate: £13.47 per hour
Hours: 0 - 35 hours per week (Flexible Relief Contract)
Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 on a flexible rota, including weekends and Bank Holidays
Shift Times: Early and late shifts between 06:00 and 00:00. Typical shifts are 07:00 to 14:00 and 14:00/15:00 to 23:00/00:00.

About the Role

Kingdom Group is recruiting a Retail Security Relief Officer to support Tesco stores in the Mablethorpe area.

This flexible relief role is ideal for individuals who can adapt to different store environments and shift patterns. You will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for customers, colleagues, and visitors while representing the Kingdom brand professionally.

This position provides relief cover for holidays, sickness, and operational requirements, with the opportunity to move into a core store position as vacancies become available.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol store premises regularly
• Act as a visible deterrent to theft, damage, trespassing, and anti-social behaviour
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies
• Control access to buildings and restricted areas
• Conduct searches where authorised and required
• Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activity
• Complete accurate incident, occurrence, and security reports
• Carry out opening and closing procedures
• Check fire exits, security systems, and safety equipment
• Identify and report maintenance or safety hazards
• Support Tesco colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations
• Provide excellent customer service to customers, visitors, and staff
• Manage conflict situations calmly and professionally
• Liaise with emergency services including Police, Fire, and Ambulance services when required
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, site rules, and Health & Safety policies

Requirements

• Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervision or Security Guarding)
• Full 5-year checkable work history
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Access to your own vehicle (essential)
• Ability to travel between store locations as required
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Professional, reliable, and confident approach
• Good observational skills and sound judgement
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Previous security experience desirable but not essential

Relief Cover & Flexibility Requirements

This role involves providing relief cover across multiple store locations, including:

• Tesco Mablethorpe - LN12 1FN
• Tesco Skegness - PE25 3PQ

The successful candidate must be able to travel and work within a 10-15 mile radius of the locations listed above.

This is a relief position offering 0-35 hours per week, working 5 days over 7 on a flexible rota. Full flexibility is essential to support holidays, sickness, and operational requirements across all designated stores.

Shifts operate between 06:00 and 00:00, with typical shift patterns of 07:00 to 14:00 and 14:00/15:00 to 23:00/00:00. Candidates must be available to work:

• Early shifts
• Late shifts
• Weekend shifts
• Bank Holiday shifts

This is a relief position and full-time hours are not guaranteed initially. However, there is potential for hours to increase over time, with opportunities to move into a permanent core store role, subject to business requirements.
