Kingdom Academy is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Construction Assessor to join our growing training division. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Carpentry & Joinery professional who is passionate about passing on their knowledge and supporting learners to achieve recognised construction qualifications.

This hybrid role combines remote working, visits to learner and client sites across Scotland, and occasional attendance at our Cumbernauld office (G68 9HN). You will work closely with learners, employers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality assessment and support throughout the learner journey.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting learners throughout their qualification journey.
  • Conducting inductions, reviews, observations and assessments.
  • Assessing learner evidence and providing constructive feedback.
  • Working closely with employers and line managers to support learner progression.
  • Managing learner records and evidence through our e-portfolio systems.
  • Planning and organising assessment visits across Scotland.
  • Delivering training and development activities where required.
  • Providing information, advice and guidance to learners.
  • Ensuring compliance with awarding body and company requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and learner records.
  • Contributing to team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Construction experience at craft level.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Carpentry & Joinery.
  • Supervisory construction experience desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Essential Qualifications

  • SVQ Carpentry & Joinery Level 3 or SCQF Level 6 and above.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Assessor Award (L&D9D) or equivalent.
  • Candidates without an assessor qualification must be willing to work towards achieving one.

Skills & Attributes

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage their own workload. You will be confident supporting learners, conducting assessments, liaising with employers and maintaining accurate records through e-portfolio systems.
