Retail Security Officer

Location: Tesco Chester-le-Street, DH3 3TF
Pay Rate: £13.47 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Full-Time Permanent

About the Role

Kingdom Group is looking for a professional, reliable, and customer-focused Retail Security Officer to join our team at Tesco Chester-le-Street, DH3 3TF.

We are seeking an experienced Security Officer to provide a highly visible security presence within the store, helping to maintain a safe and secure environment for customers, colleagues, and visitors. Due to the location and operational requirements of the role, own transport is required.

Shift Pattern

You will work 40 hours per week on a rota covering:

• Wednesday
• Thursday
• Friday
• Saturday
• Sunday

Shift Times:

• 06:00 to 15:00 or
• 16:00 to 24:00

Working 5 to 6 days per week as required by the business.

Flexibility may be required to meet operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a professional and highly visible security presence within the store.
• Deter theft, anti-social behaviour, and other security-related incidents.
• Conduct regular patrols of the store and surrounding areas.
• Respond to incidents calmly and professionally in line with company procedures.
• Monitor CCTV systems where applicable.
• Deliver excellent customer service to customers and colleagues.
• Complete accurate incident reports and relevant documentation.
• Support store management with loss prevention initiatives.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment at all times.
• Work closely with store management and colleagues to support operational requirements.

What We're Looking For

A valid SIA Licence is essential.

• Previous retail security experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Professional, confident, and reliable approach.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent timekeeping and attendance record.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Own transport is required.
